Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v (Sjēsvev /dac/ [chef; cook] [excuse]) is a subtropical Small City located in the Hujdàj Region of the Tetburland.
The name Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v is derived from the Sylvin language, as Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v was founded by Reirgami, who was culturaly Tauran.
Climate
Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v has a yearly average temperature of 28°C (82°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 32°C (89°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 24°C (75°F). Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v receives an average of 288 cm/y (113 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v covers an area of nearly 16 km2 (6 mi2), and an average elevation of 1492 m (4895 ft) above sea level.
Overview
Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v was founded durring the early 9th century, by Reirgami. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.
Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v was built using the conventions of Tauran durring the early 9th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.
Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v is was constructed arround several narrow canals mainstreets which cross one another at certain axies, with smaller streets branching off of them to premit acess to the many buildings deeper into the road network. The overall fashion is remenessent of a circulatory system, or other organic construct, and is quite effishent in its design. The city is the proud owner of a thick set of fortified walls fashioned from querried stone blocks. While not up to snuff for a fort or castle wall, the city's walls are naturaly much larger than those of forts or castles. Therefore, the construction such a wall is most expencive. Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v's buget focused wall would serve its community well in battle in spite of looking unimpressive compared to castles and fortresses. The city's top tier civilian fortifications have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the city.
A look around Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v is like looking into a university’s plaza on the day before an exam. People rush about to-and-fro. Discarded scrolls and quills are dotted around city. In spite of many locals discussing academic topics, there’s little sign of any organized groups for any of that talk. Infact, the city seems disordered in general with everything scattered helter skelter about.
Civic Infrastructure
Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v has an animal control department which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the control, impoundment, and disposition of animals.
Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v's parks.
Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v.

Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Small City. Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v's grid is powered by a direct leyline tap.
Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v has a first rate hospital which caters to anyone in need of long term medical care.
Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v's natural decorations nor waterways.
Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.
Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.
Cultural Notes
Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is famous for its stately symmetry, classical elements, and grand appearance. Columns and pillars, such as Corinthian columns, are often seen supporting open structures or porticos. Symmetry is an important feature of this style, with each half of a building mirroring the other. Domed ceilings and windows grace these buildings, with everything placed in a mathematical arrangement.
In Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v most nights are accompanied by colorful ribbons of light in the sky.
The Murder of Crows near Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v are known to be quite timid.
Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves ritual combat to channel Transmutation energies of tier 1 via moments of science.

Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v is still bloodied by a recent violent conflict. A crushing bandit raid, a lost siege, getting caught at the periphery of a major battle, or some other calamity has inflicted severe damage on the place. Some communities may suffer a longer-term version of this, their youths lost in a grinding, endless battle against some perpetual threat.
In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century the Kami solved a major long term problem plaguing the town. One of Sjēsvevdac Ji̊ Qi̊v's local festivals commemorates this miracle.
